MURRAY Magpies midfielder Daniel Maher is four votes clear of the chasing pack in the WAW-The Border Mail Footballer of the Year award.

Maher continued his consistent season by polling eight votes in the team’s loss to Lockhart before the bye.

Osborne’s Connor Galvin is second on 50, followed by Culcairn’s Jye Shields (48) and Demon Jordan Harrington (48).

Tim Brook (47) and Matt McDonald (43) are next.
