It just so happens both are among the form teams of the competition, with United sitting in second, just seven points clear of City in fifth.
City’s Matt Hogan is likely to return to the senior side this weekend and admits its a fixture the club always sets itself for.
“There’s certainly a lot of bragging rights up for grabs and it’s a friendly, but competitive rivalry,” Hogan said.
City started last season slow, much like this year, but hit top form as the finals approached.
“(Coach) Matt Maw has really pushed that on us and his understanding of the game and his coaching has given us all a lot of confidence,” Hogan added.
United got the better of their rivals with a 1-0 victory in round seven and coach Matt Campbell is expecting another tough assignment.
“At this time of year, most sides are battling injuries, but they’ve been knocking out good results and their win against Wang three or four weeks ago was a big result,” Campbell said.
“That obviously makes most teams sit up and take notice.
“There’s seven games to go and anything can happen from here, even the guys that are sitting third or fourth are still in the hunt (for the league) given who’s still got to play each other.”
