The event held for the first time on a Friday public holiday in 2014 will be up against a hot field including the Warrnambool May carnival and the Ballarat and Geelong cup meetings.
Last year's event attracted more than 7000 people and generated more than $2 million in economic impact.
"It is a fairly strong field and we're delighted to be nominated again," Racing Wodonga general manager Tom O'Connor said.
"We've invested heavily into the day and got some runs on the board in terms of economic impact on the city.
"It's something we want to continue into the future."
The event held in late November is locked in until 2018 before Wodonga Council will be asked for ongoing support again.
The Racing Victoria awards night will be held on August 26 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
