The function, hosted by ANZ at MAMA, was attended by about 140 guests with survivor and trust fund board member Michelle Hensel telling the crowd of the important role the Albury-Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre plays in the community.
Mrs Hensel made hundreds of trips to Melbourne as her son Braedon bravely battled cancer from 2011-14 and she spoke of what a difference the Border centre would have made to their family during an incredibly difficult time.
Fundraising manager Jane Evans said money raised would go towards staff training, cancer research, patient therapies and the purchase of life-saving medical equipment.
Wednesday night’s tally comes two months after Rutherglen raised more than $90,000 for the trust in honour of Karl Jacka.
