CHARGED: Cody Robert Schulz was arrested in Wodonga on Friday.

A MAN who allegedly reversed a car into a new Mercedes while fleeing police has fronted court.

Cody Robert Schulz, 22, appeared dazed and agitated in the Wodonga Magistrates Court on Monday after his arrest three days earlier.

Police will allege the Albury man was involved in high-speed driving in a white Toyota Lexcen on Melrose Drive in Wodonga on Tuesday.

He allegedly slammed the car into a Mercedes near the Albury Garden Court Motel on Friday after stealing petrol in Rutherglen.

He had sprinted from a Vienna Court home in a last-ditch bid to avoid arrest, but was taken into custody on Maxwell Drive.

The 22-year-old fronted court in a light blue hoodie with track pants and a rat tail haircut on Monday.

He slumped into his chair and closed his eyes, appearing frustrated by delays.

Lawyer Mario Vaccaro did not apply for bail and said his client wanted to enter a plea next week.

The matter will return to court next Monday.
