Instead they’d chosen to stay in their night attire for National Pyjama Day, which raises money and awareness for The Pyjama Foundation’s support of children in foster care.
Lifestyle co-ordinator Michelle Phillips said staff on all three shifts agreed to take part in the day, although the reactions to the idea varied.
“Let’s say mixed, some of them were all for it and others were ‘Ooh, I don’t know’,” she said.
An afternoon fashion parade saw residents voting on the best and worst pyjamas and best slippers modelled by the participants.
“Residents think it’s hilarious,” Ms Phillips said.
“And they’re also asking how they can donate, so they understand that it’s a good cause.”
