The watercolour depiction of the independent MP by Yackandandah artist Charles Sluga was overlooked for the last 43.
“I acknowledge Charles’ incredible skill and creativity in pioneering a method of painting in watercolour on plastic,” Ms McGowan said.
“His work is indicative of the innovation practised among artists in Indi.
“I am proud to be a patron of the arts in my electorate.”
The portrait was unveiled earlier this month.
