A Victorian weather warning issued Saturday morning said winds averaging 60 to 70km/h, with peak gusts of 90 to 100km/h, were expected across areas over 1200 metres.
Falls Creek, Mount Hotham, Mount Buller, Omeo, Wonthaggi and Mount Baw Baw may be affected.
The winds, caused by a low pressure trough embedded in a northwesterly airflow, should moderate Sunday afternoon.
