Sydney TAFE’s Jon Frost said plans for the Bachelor of Property Valuation to be brought to Albury were close to fruition.
“I personally am confident we’ll be enrolling in February next year,” he said.
Speaking during Friday’s Australian Property Institute Albury-Wodonga regional property seminar at The Cube Wodonga, Mr Frost said the course, which began 18 months ago, mixed practical and academic elements.
“Dirty boots, mucky hands, job ready, start work the day you’ve graduated, that’s the aim,” he said.
API Albury-Wodonga education committee chairman Bob Allan said the degree could help keep young people on the Border rather than moving to the capital cities to study.
“By the time they finish their course, they’ve met someone, they’ve got a job down there, they don’t come back to regional areas,” Mr Allan said.
