Third place was on the line for the winner of the contest, and, despite Diamonds leading on two separate occasions, it was the Greens that walked away with all three points.
Boomers continued to apply pressure on Albury City at the top of the table with a comfortable 7-0 victory against Melrose.
Wangaratta holds down fifth spot after a clinical 5-0 triumph over Myrtleford, while Albury Hotspurs moved a step closer to securing a spot in the top eight after defeating Cobram 6-3.
Albury City and St Pats had byes.
