Police have arrested a Lavington man after an 18th birthday party was gatecrashed in Charles Street, South Albury, about midnight on June 18.
The victim was assaulted and surgeons could not save his eye.
The 20-year-old has been charged with reckless assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, affray and drug possession.
He will face court on August 22 with a co-accused.
