United coach Matt Campbell has the feeling there’s still plenty to come.
“There’s a little bit of a gap between first and fourth and fifth, but there’s probably only two or three teams chasing the league now,” he said.
“Myrtleford have still got a couple of tough ones in the last four or five and so do we.
“Don’t get me wrong, would have preferred Wang to win (last weekend against Myrtleford) to level up the points tally, but to be within one point with four or five games to go, most teams would be stoked to be in that position.”
Wangaratta’s Raff Molinaro said it’s been a tough week on the training track after conceding three second half goals to draw with the Savoys last weekend.
“Heff (coach Connor Heffernan) really want us to have that mental toughness coming into the finals,” he added.
