The Eastern Creek venue hasn’t provided a lot of success for the Border-based team, but with Tim Slade’s impressive points haul at Queensland Raceway where he finished fourth and seventh, respectively, in the two races, anything is possible.
Ipswich wasn’t previously a place where BJR cars had performed well, but they have been working hard on improving their pace at their traditional bogey circuits and it looks to be working.
Slade’s teammate Nick Percat also a strong weekend up North, qualifying in the top 10 for both races.
He was on track for a great weekend, finishing seventh in race one and running fifth late in race two when bad luck struck again.
Percat ran over some debris on the track which caused his front left tyre to spectacularly explode, eventually relegating him to 24th.
