From August 21 staff will join Tour de Office, a national initiative in which workplaces embrace physical activity and raise money for charity.
Wodonga TAFE will raise funds for Albury Wodonga Regional Foodshare.
Wodonga TAFE chief executive Mark Dixon urged all staff to join the initiative, which was part of the TAFE’s Health and Wellbeing program.
“It is vitally important that while we are at work we look after our physical and emotional health,” he said.
“I am proud to be part of the Wodonga TAFE Health and Wellbeing program and have volunteered myself for each activity that we have scheduled.
“As part of the Tour de Office I’m the first rider to take part to launch the week-long event.”
A stationary bike will be set up in the Wodonga TAFE cafeteria with each rider streamed live to follow their progress.
“The message we want to share with our team is that increased activity can reduce the risk of preventable diseases,” Mr Dixon said.
“As an employer we recognise that we play an important role in encouraging our staff to look after their health and wellbeing.”
