Wahgunyah hasn’t been in this position since 2011, but Hawks’ coach Adam Mudra believes his side’s recent experience in finals won’t be a major factor.
“I think its less about the finals and more about having played at Sandy Creek before,” Mudra said.
“I think that’s what we’re taking out of it the most, the fact the boys have had experience playing big games on that particular ground.
“I think both sides will be able to step up and handle the increased intensity, but the fact a few of the boys have played on the bigger deck out there gives us an insight into how we want to approach it.
A date with minor premiers Thurgoona in the major semi-final the following weekend awaits the winner.
