“We’re not giving up on it yet,” Mason said.

Mason added the emotion of last weekend’s victory over Albury Hotspurs in the wake of the sudden passing of club legend Les O’Brien will continue to motivate the playing group.

“Last week, our composure wasn’t in it and we might have been a bit too emotional going into the game, so we didn’t play a full 90 minutes of football,” he said.

“We’ll be carrying him (O’Brien) throughout the rest of the season as well, it wasn’t just last week.”

Mason said applying defensive pressure on Boomers’ stars Pieter Noordewier and Andrew Grove will be key to winning the contest.
