We love the community aspect of the area and hope to be a good part of the community
- Cale Bryan
Highgrove Bathrooms opened its 10th Victorian store on the site where Peter White had sold furniture for more than 20 years until his recent retirement.
Face painting, a free sausage sizzle and balloon animals formed part of the revamped building’s opening day.
Highgrove Bathrooms co-director Cale Bryan said the business took some time to find the right location in Wodonga.
“We had been looking at the area for a couple of years with its growth,” he said.
“Because it’s one of the larger regional cities and there’s the drawcard of all the small towns nearby. We love the community aspect of the area and hope to be a good part of the community.”
Mr Bryan said Saturday’s opening had gone well, attracting families, people downsizing, those renovating rentals and investors.
Wodonga’s Rhiannon Jarvis and her daughters Claire, 7, and Lucy, 2, were among the first day visitors.
“Driving past when I’ve seen this is coming in here, I’ve thought ‘Oh, that looks interesting’,” she said.
“A bathroom upgrade’s on my radar and there’s some very tempting things here.”
