Wangaratta’s forward line is becoming more dangerous with the classy James McClounan kicking four goals against Myrtleford.
The Pies grabbed their sixth straight victory with a 13.19 (97) to 9.5 (59) win.
Star forward Michael Newton missed his second successive game since injuring his hamstring on July 29.
“He (McClounan) goes under the radar, but he’s been pretty handy the last few weeks,” defender Mat Grossman said.
Wangaratta hasn’t lost since falling to Wodonga Raiders in round 11.
“I think our pressure and execution was pretty spot on in the first quarter and set the tone for the rest of the day,” Grossman said.
