The library has replaced some ageing toys with six new tricycles and three scooters thanks to a Wodonga Council community grant.
“They’ve just been unboxed, so we’ll put them into circulation ASAP,” library secretary Simone Bowler said.
The sooner, the better, if the enthusiasm of young Madelyn, Melody, Rachel and Isaac is any marker.
Wodonga Toy Library began in 1979 and moved to its present site at Wodonga West Children’s Centre a couple of years ago.
About 70 families use the not for profit service, which is run by volunteers for five hours a week over two days.
“We’re very lucky we do have some members whose children are a bit older now who actually do the rotation on a weekly basis,” Mrs Bowler said.
“We have a culturally diverse membership base and enjoy assisting families to choose toys that are both interesting and at an appropriate developmental stage for their children.”
