The city wants the Roads and Maritime Service to make the cuts to enhance safety.
It wants a 100km/h stretch of Table Top Road between Kinross Court and Ettamogah Road to become 60 km/h.
It is also seeking Thurgoona Drive between Table Top Rd and 200 metres east of Litchfield Drive, to go from 80 km/h to 60 km/h, and Kerr Road between the Riverina Highway and Thurgoona Road change from 80 km/h to 60 km/h.
The council’s Engineering and Works Committee chairman Henk van de Ven, says the areas around the roads affected home increasingly residential.
“With a 45 per cent increase in private dwellings since 2011 and 36 per cent more families living in Thurgoona in the past five years, we want to maintain a safe environment for all road users,” Cr van de Ven said.
