The 2017 Three Choirs Festival will bring together the Beechworth Singers, Murray Conservatorium Choir and Vocal Dimension Wangaratta.
Concerts will be held at City Central Church, Albury, on Saturday at 7.30pm and the next day in Holy Trinity Cathedral, Wangaratta, at 2.30pm.
The repertoire, to be led by guest conductor Jackson Harnwell, features Handel’s Coronation Anthems.
“Everyone knows Zadok the Priest, if not by name then definitely they’ve heard it before,” Harnwell said.
“The other three Coronation Anthems are not so well-known but are equally impressive pieces.”
For the first time, the three choirs will combine for the entire program, which also includes songs by William Byrd, Ralph Vaughan-Williams and modern American composers Susan Labarr, Eric Whitacre and Morten Lauridsen.
“We really wanted to show the breadth of repertoire that the choir can perform,” Harnwell said.
