Having seen off challenges from Wangaratta and Albury United respectively, Albury City and Boomers are now set to continue their long-standing Cup rivalry next Sunday.
Despite an ever-growing injury list, Boomers were able to account for Albury United 3-0 thanks to a standout defensive performance from Gemma Noordewier.
The experienced defender once again did a standout job on dangerous Albury United striker Alicia Torcaso, a crucial factor in their clean sheet.
At the other end, Joey Cartwright and Maddy Harris were able to capitalise on the free-flowing nature of the game, seizing on opportunities in the seventh and 65th minute respectively.
Boomers coach Steve Hayes said getting an early goal had eased the pressure on his side.
“It was end to end stuff for a lot of the game, we would have hot the woodwork two or three times,” he said.
“Getting one early took the pressure off for us.
“Historically we've struggled to score in the first half, so getting the first goal meant we were able to put pressure back on them.
“The fact that the ball was going end to end probably created a bit of space for us that we wouldn't normally get.
“Sometimes it can get a little congested in our forward half, but it opened up a little bit for us.
“I think our defence was reasonably solid today, which is a good sign.
“We've had that part of our game right at the right time of year.”
Hayes said he was most impressed with Noordewier's performance, who in addition to shutting down Torcaso, was able to sneak forward and score the team's third goal in the 89th minute.
Of some concern though, is an injury list that continues to grow.
With regular contributors like Alarna Parascos already out for the season, news that young gun Bella Claxton battled through an ankle injury and Lauren Antonello pushed through a hip complaint was hardly comforting.
“We're in bits and pieces to an extent,” Hayes said.
“A lot of those players are experienced, so at the end of the day it's going to be a bit of a challenge to get everyone right for next week.”
In the other semi-final, Albury City showed why they’re a class above the rest of the competition with a thumping 9-0 win over Wangaratta.
Samantha McIntosh, Zoe Jackson and Molly Goldsworthy all scored doubles for City, while Montana Mathews and Bridget McDiarmid also found the back of the net in the dominant display.
