Tarrawingee hall will host the 2pm event as part of the party’s ongoing 100 Years – 100 Towns celebrations, with Nationals deputy leader Steph Ryan the guest speaker.
“It’s to recognise the women that have been involved in the North East, to reminisce and to catch up,” North Eastern zone women’s executive representative Emma Williamson.
“The National party has been seen as a male environment, but there are a lot of very high profile women that are becoming involved.”
Mrs Williamson said in 1932 six women attended the first meeting of the then United Country Party’s Wangaratta women’s branch at the CWA rooms.
“Women have always had a role within the party,” she said.
