Parklands Albury Wodonga will use $20,000 to pilot a four-day horse riding trail at Shelley and an $18,000 grant for Into Our Hands Community Foundation will be used to hold an information session and start a small grants program around introducing philanthropy to Wangaratta.
Australian Women in Agriculture will also take its $20,000 program to Wangaratta helping women look to get onto boards.
The grants were funded through the building better regions fund and Indi MP Cathy McGowan said the projects would provide social and economic benefits for the community.
“Supporting local philanthropy and women’s leadership is vital for regional communities, and tourist attractions are a key part of thriving rural economies,” she said.
