Only government agencies such as the BOM and CSIRO have the resources to do this and they seem to be under great pressure to post a warming narrative.

Adjustments made to accommodate non-climatic variables would be unremarkable but for the intense political interest in climate which informs public policy and furthermore over the past 10 years in particular, the modeling of future world temperature increases by the IPCC has been shown to be highly inaccurate.

A recent article in Nature Geoscience has confirmed what US climate expert John Christie has been saying for years: computer models over-estimate expected global heating. He says: If one follows the scientific method … the average model trend fails to represent the actual trend of the past 38 years by a highly significant amount. As a result, applying the traditional scientific method, one would accept this failure and not promote the model trends as something truthful about the recent past or the future.

Sceptics prefer the word “remould” while climate scientists say they're “improving” the data. The end result is the same, something has been changed. I suppose the altering of data is what they mean when they say climate change is man-made.

So when opinion writers tacitly assume all good weather is natural and green house gasses cause only bad weather, or claim to be able to predict future storms, but only after they have already occurred, sceptics have the right to call their science unsettled.

An Albury councillor was seeking to stop the opening prayer at council meetings, saying praying wastes time, since council had more important matters to address. Queried on prayer length, he replied, I don’t know, I pay no attention. That says little when time supposedly is the issue.

Often heard when calamity, disaster, cause for public mourning, or concern occurs, community leaders and politicians urge that prayers be said. To whom would prayers be directed? 

If as the councillor says praying wastes time when important community matters need attention, then apparently in life’s daily activities there is no need to call on God’s help.

Secularism is now the generally accepted norm making God irrelevant.

Abandonment of Christian religious practices, as above and on other public occasions, feeds irreligious thinking considered acceptable. But when disaster strikes, O God we need your attention … help us in our disaster. 

So, God you are there for our convenience in troubled times. Otherwise, God, we will call you as and when needed.

They remain wise words, enduring credibility, tested and proven, and I know it to be true.
