‘Not guilty’ plea over alleged machete assault in street brawl
A man who allegedly brandished two machetes in a deadly Wangaratta brawl will plead not guilty to the charge of intentionally causing injury.

Paul Kerr, 46, appeared in Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court on Monday where the case was adjourned until October.
Police alleged he assaulted two men with the weapons during the brawl on May 20.
One of Kerr’s victims, Jacob Allan, allegedly responded by killing Kerr’s friend Russell Berry with kicks to the head and chest and has been charged with murder.
