Coordinator Trevor Slater and manager Curtis Reid were instrumental in getting the team to the event, having initiated, requested and been successful in receiving sponsorship and funding from various business located in Albury-Wodonga to be self-sufficient.
The annual knockout regularly attracts more than 120 teams and around 60,000 people from across the state to the host city.
Albury-Wodonga took on the Newcastle All Blacks in their first game of the tournament on Friday.
