Event co-organiser Bradley Hayden said there were more than 160 entries for the first-time event, which is running on the back of the hugely successful Albury-Wodonga International Horse Trials earlier in the year.
“We put so much work into maintaining and developing the course that we thought it would be better to run two events a year,” Mr Hayden said.
The committee altered the schedule to include a one-star class and there is a 45cm class, which has attracted adult riders keen to dip their toes into eventing.
The dressage and some showjumping will take place on Saturday but for all the cross-country action head to the Thurgoona facility from 9am to 1pm Sunday.
