Albury Little Athletics Centre will host a clinic with Olympian Melinda Gainsford-Taylor on Sunday.
Club secretary Elisabeth McGuire said it was purely by chance they secured the former star.
“I actually saw a flyer that she was going to Wagga and advertised it to Albury Little Athletics and our parents asked if she was able to come to Albury,” she said.
“I contacted them and got her to come down.”
Gainsford-Taylor will run a three-hour session focused on explosive speed.
“She will correct their sprinting technique and run a lot of workshops and drills with them, so the kids get to work with her pretty much one-one-one,” McGuire said.
“We’re very lucky that she’s coming because we don’t really get Olympians come for nothing.
“We’ve opened it up to Lavington-Jindera and Wodonga Little Athletics as well.”
A maximum 40 registrations have been taken for the clinic.
