The residents at Kensington Gardens are a talented bunch if sales at last year’s Art and Craft Show are anything to go by.
The two-day show was a hit and so it’s back this year as part of the estate’s open day.
The show means it’s the public’s chance to view, and purchase if they wish, creations all by residents at the Thurgoona estate.
“We had a lot of people come on the Saturday last year and went and told their friends, who then came the next day,” co-organiser Wendy Drummond said.
“You wouldn’t believe the talent we have here at Kensington Gardens.”
Co-organiser Trisha Bartling said much of the work on display at last year’s show sold and once again all works would be on sale again for this year’s event.
“We had an extremely successful Art and Craft Show,” Mrs Bartling said.
“We sold so much work.
“So many people here (at Kensington Gardens) do wonderful things.”
Many of the creators behind the works will be in attendance at this year’s show to chat with visitors about their creations.
Creations on display will include paintings, felting, embroidery, sewing, knitting, and woodwork plus bits and pieces of various craftwork.
There will also be various items of a Christmas theme.

Mrs Bartling, who will have a selection of her paintings and cards for sale at the show, said the auditorium in the Kensignton Gardens clubhouse would be chock-full of works on display.
Mrs Bartling’s cards, which are copies of her paintings, sold out on the first day of last year’s event and she had to make more for the second day.
Another resident specialises in painting people’s pets from photos.
She said it was a satisfying experience for the residents who displayed their works when someone wanted to purchase it.
The Art and Craft Show will be held on Saturday, October 21 10am-4pm, and Sunday, October 22, 10am to 3pm. The Kensington Gardens Open Day itself is only on the Saturday, 10am-4pm.
So why not pop in to Kensington Gardens estate and have a look for yourself at what the dedicated creators have to show – you never know what you might find to liven up that blank lounge room wall.
