The Swans have indicated they are keen to retain Murray as a Category A rookie next year, meaning the Pies will have to satisfy Sydney’s trade demands to complete the deal, rather than walk for nothing.
“I’m leaving it to my manager,” Murray said.
“He’s in touch with Collingwood and he’s in touch with Sydney and just trying to work out where I’m at.
“All I can say is that as a young player I want to play senior footy.
“It’s about opportunities and that is what my manager is working through at the moment.
“I can’t say a lot more than that.”
Murray made the NEAFL Team of the Year this season and could be used at Collingwood to help replace injury-marred defenders Ben Sinclair and Jackson Ramsay who are without contracts.
