The Pink on the Green Border Women’s Golf Classic will be held at three courses next week.
“It was really popular in our first year and this year we ended up being fully booked, two months out from the event, with a waiting list and we’ve had to cap the numbers,” Wodonga Golf Club’s Jenny Garner said.
The event starts at Albury on Tuesday, with Thurgoona (Wednesday) and Wodonga (Thursday) to follow.
It’s a 54-hole event, with a host of prizes, including a Toyota vehicle on each day for a hole in one.
As well as players from North East Victoria and Southern NSW, the event has also attracted competitors from several other Victorian clubs.
Last year’s competition raised more than $12,000 for the Albury-Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre Trust Fund, with all money raised donated to the organisation.
One-hundred and twelve players will tackle the tournament.
