The traditional weekend day-time event will instead take place on Friday from 4pm to 8pm.
Parent and fair co-ordinator Teresa Craig said the shift in time and a new spring racing theme were hoped to attract fresh faces to the day.
“We’ve ran a school fair for a number of years, but this is the first time the school is doing a twilight fair with a spring theme,” she said.
“We’ll have a competition for best-dressed with fashions on the field and we’re encouraging all stall holders to dress up for the spring theme.”
Kristy Maddison, also a member of the organising committee, said the event was the school’s biggest annual fundraiser.
“What we really wanted to do was open this event up to the community and bring it back to spending quality time with family and friends,” she said.
“Without the community and businesses, there’s no way we could have achieved what we have.
“We have a brand new library area that just opened last term so proceeds will be going to resources for the kids.”
Hit 104.9 FM’s Riley-Rose Harper and Seamus Evans will be hosting the event and there will be stalls, entertainment and food and coffee on offer with a range of amusement – and pony – rides.
Parents and volunteers have been busy cleaning up donated bears and other prizes to be used.
Ms Craig said Border businesses had again thrown their support behind the fundraiser in a big way. “There will be a ‘guess how many balloons are in the car’ with Wodonga Real Estate and some fantastic prizes have been donated for the wheel-spin by Hairhouse Warehouse Albury and the Cheesecake Shop,” she said.
“We want to thank the Augustine’s and broader community for their donations.”
St Augustine’s Primary School Wodonga principal Joseph Quinn thanked the parents who had put in the hard yards.
“We have an incredible school community,” he said.
