Talented young goalkeeper Tabitha McDonald starred in her senior debut for Sharks in the absence of Elise Boyer, while the ever-consistent Leah Dodd was in fine form once again.
Sharks’ coach Tony Close said the defence was outstanding, while the attack looked after itself.
“It was a good win by our girls, but in saying that, Pirates were down on numbers,” Close said.
“It would have been a much closer game if they had their full side, they’re going to be a good side.”
Albury Tigers hit back with a comprehensive 15-2 triumph against Northside.
In the men’s fixtures, Albury Tigers recorded a 14-2 victory against Northside, while Sharks edged out Pool Pirates in an entertaining contest, 10-8.
