Jan Dihood and Juleen Cannon finished their match with a flourish, seeing Uiver Park home by just four games against Forest Hill.
Glenly and Scots Black enjoyed a tight tussle, the former home by five games.
Maggie Brawn, Chris Jones, Heather Carlin and Carol Mildren did their best work early, with Amelia McCrabb, Emily Bell, Ellen Ring Phoebe McCrabb all finishing strongly only to fall just short.
SPD defeated Wodonga Silver in a one-sided contest.
An unbeaten Neil Mitchell was key in Albury Blue’s narrow victory over Wodonga Eagles in section three.
Geoff Hubanic was the standout in Glenly Blue’s 4-2 triumph over SPD Yellow, with Tom Harrington in good touch for the losers.
In the ladies, Scots Red dropped the first set but won the rest against SPD Pink, while Scots Aqua defeated Scots Pink.
Section four men saw SPD Green power home with the final three stanzas and the points against Glenly Gold.
Hugh King, Gavin Dykes, Hafiz Andrews and Isaac McGrath produced great tennis from mid-afternoon, with Frank Johnstone good early for Glenly.
Saturday morning junior coaching and pennant continues at the Albury grass courts from 9.30am for children aged seven to 14.
The first of the Sportspower junior tournaments is at Albury on Sunday from 9am.
Juniors from eight-years-old through to 16 and under are catered for in two divisions.
The next North East Veterans tournament is on Sunday at Bendigo.
