I have a message for those who sent hate messages to La Maison Café for opening their doors to a group of “No” supporters.

Did you realise that they have been opening their doors to “Yes” supporter groups as well? You know why? Love has no boundaries. A philosophy which should resonate with everyone.
This is the equality we are fighting for. If we allow civilised debate, not hate messages, common sense will prevail. Hate messages polarise people as they don’t listen, they shut down and stick to their views.
We Australians pride ourselves on having the best democracy in the world. If you are not aware, democracy fosters diversity, be it race, gender, religion to name a few, and my family embraces it all. My family has been brought up as devout Catholics with love and empathy for all God’s creation.
We are all created in God’s image, to hate anyone is to hate God.
We have no room in our hearts for hatred for anyone.
Whatever gender fluidity you are, we still love you. Obviously, through your hate messages we understand you have no love for us but irrespective, we still love you. This is true love. We pray that you get the true justice that you are looking for.
I am, however, asking that you take a good look at yourselves and question who are the real haters. You attack La Maison as a small business but fail to attack a big business (Commercial Club) which hosted a similar gathering for the same group only a couple of weeks ago.
I hope the true fighters on the yes side of this debate distant themselves from you people, because it’s not necessarily one’s religious belief that affects which side they vote, it’s the fear of what may come after.

Apathy the victor
I was reading the article in The Border Mail by David Johnston regarding the backflip of VicRoads in the determination of units to be built (‘VicRoads blink on VCAT action on Yarrawonga unit development’, The Border Mail, October 23).
It mentioned that the Green route (in the Lake Mulwala Bridge saga) was the 'resounding victor' over the grey route in the plebiscite that the Moira Council had to hold. Well, the actual resounding victor in the plebiscite outcome was that well over half the recipients/voters didn't consider the filling out and returning of the plebiscite worthy of doing.
The business sector in Yarrawonga requires traffic to be travelling through the main street to continue.
Evidence of what happens to other towns when traffic is diverted away from the business sector show that once thriving towns die

I can’t see dignity
I found father Brendan Lee's column quite interesting, and totally agree with him.
He mentioned that Daniel Andrews said that his father died a 'good' death, I would like to know how Premier Andrews knows this, and what he deems a "good" death?
If I had to choose, I would prefer to be surrounded by my loved ones in my last days, than “suicide by doctor”. I cant see any dignity in being so distressed that one is begging for someone to end their life.
I would be much more at ease if I knew that everyone was fully aware of the serious consequences of passing this law.
