In section one, Forrest Hill Blues were away early before a late charge from Wangaratta almost overran them.

Narrow singles wins to Zac Burhop, Matt Paul and Cam Scholz helped Blues to the four points while Doug Smith was in good touch for the visitors.

An unbeaten Rodney Wurtz steered Forrest Hill Cats to a hard fought four sets to two victory over St Patricks/Diggerville.

Cameron Meagher proved the difference in Wodonga Bulldogs’ salute over Forrest Hill Galahs with Michael Reid best for the losers.

In the ladies, Chris Mollison was the standout on court in Wodonga Tigers’ defeat of club mates Slammers.

Emily Price, Chloe Brereton and Marg Leddin were good in support while Lynn Aylmore was best for Slammers.

Wodonga Dodgers had the match against Wodonga Diamonds in the bag before rain finished the afternoon and Forrest Hill were too good for Thurgoona Jade.

The more experienced line-up of Wodonga Larrikins defeated a young, spirited SPD outfit.

Uiver Park had the victory after four sets against Wodonga Silver with the latter claiming the final two stanzas.

Dionne Hartley and Mercedes Goss remained unbeaten in SPD’s account of Scots Black and Glenly outplayed Forrest Hill.

Phil Sticker gave away little in a three set-haul setting up Wodonga Eagles’ 4–2 triumph over SPD Yellow in section three.

Back up came from James Zacker, Shaun Partl and Paul Pocock with Tom Harrington a two-set winner for Yellow.

Glenly Blue dropped the first in a tiebreak but nothing more against Pirates.

Sacred Heart had all the answers against SPD Black with Albury Gold holding out Albury Blue.

The closest match in the ladies was Scots Red over Scots Aqua.

Forty-four players took part in the first of the Sportspower tournaments at Albury on Sunday.
