Warm Heart, the debut single by indie/pop artist Hollie Col, explores a young boy’s emotional journey, with Jesse winning the role after auditions in Sydney.
“We were looking for a kid that was happy to get out there and get dirty,” Col said.
“Be amongst nature and happily get involved with it.
“Jesse had this quiet confidence about him that he would just give anything a go.
“It all had to be him; he did such a good job.”
Filming took two 12-hour days in June around the Southern Highlands.
Jesse, a year 6 student at The Scots School Albury, said he liked the experience despite the conditions.
“Really, really cold weather, it was 1 degree for most of the time,” he said. “In the scene where there was the water, I actually got hypothermia – not too bad.”
Col also appears during the video in that water scene.
“Jesse was happy to be able to splash me at the end, that made it better,” she said.
