Margo Marshall, 68, is contesting charges of assault with a weapon, carrying a firearm in an unsafe manner and failing to comply with her gun licence conditions.
She appeared before Wodonga Magistrates Court this week after the incident in Star Lane, Wooragee, on April 15.
A group in a vehicle appeared to have accidentally entered her property before Marshall pointed the gun at them.
Her lawyer argued they crossed her cattle grates and had failed to read the signs warning it was private property.
He argued Marshall was within her rights as signage was in place, but the incident occurred in darkness about 9.30pm.
The matter will return for a contest mention in the court on December 4.
