On his latest solo venture, the Australia’s Got Talent judge has teamed up with US hitmaker Rob Conley.
The resulting electro-pop, of which McFadden has vaguely dabbled before, represents a fresh direction for the Irishman.
It’s not groundbreaking but, by the current single Just Say So, with US hip-hop rocker Kevin Rudolf, McFadden has ditched his balladic past for punchy, easily-digestible dancefloor pop.
To be honest, Wall Of Soundz does have its skippable moments but tunes like Sign Of The Times and the autotuned Kickin’ Around The Love are likely future singles.
And Mistakes, an energetic duet with fiancee Delta Goodrem is a no-brainer.
But the lyrics “my first mistake was loving you” are a worry.
