With the home team struggling at 7-136, Noske and Hollands added 45 in the final five overs to put a winning total on the board.

Baranduda could only manage 7-162 in reply.

“That partnership got us over the line,” skipper Mason Brown said.

“Their running between wickets was brilliant.

“Blake and Elijah turned ones into twos and twos into threes and they only hit one boundary in their 45-run stand.

“It’s just what we needed in the final overs.”

Hollands (30 not out) and Noske (19 not out) finished off the good work of Andrew Berg (57) and Tom Johnson (40) earlier in the innings.

Baranduda had lost only two wickets at drinks but, with the exception of Paul Munro, never looked comfortable against a tight bowling attack of Hollands, Charlie Jackson, Brown and Leigh Collins.

“The boys bowled a treat,” Brown said.

“Charlie Jackson and Elijah Hollands are only 16 and 15 and did really well.

“We were able to defend the score with the young blokes electric in the field.

“They bring plenty of energy to the side.”

Wodonga sit on top of the ladder after four successive wins and face a crunch match against rivals Lavington later this month.

Eskdale won a high-scoring clash against Howlong by 42 runs at Howlong.

Ashan Ranaweera steered Mt Beauty to a comfortable victory over Corowa at Ball Park.

Set 9-136 for victory, Ranaweera coasted in making 86 not out as the visitors made the score with 15 overs to spare.

Mark Athanitis topscored for Corowa with 28.

Lavington defeated Bethanga by four wickets.

Although Bethanga’s Andrew Hird bowled well to pick up three wickets, the Panthers’ Brad Dalbosco was the matchwinner with 59.

Michael Galvin lent good support with 32.
