‘Rough riding’ caused speed restrictions for North East trains

The number of trains on the Albury line running on time dropped to 82.8 per cent in October.

The figure was 3 per cent down on last month, but well ahead of the 12-month average.

V/Line chief executive James Pinder said temporary speed restrictions on the line were needed after reports of “rough riding”.

“This means we must slow trains down, to ensure a comfortable ride for passengers and staff, and it has been the main reason for delays on the line in October,” he said.
