RISING star Kylie Whitehead made a triumphant debut as an A1 skip to lead Wodonga to a 94-90 win over YMGCR at Wodonga on Saturday.

Whitehead’s rink defeated Les Spencer 25-17 to give the host side enough breathing space to score its fourth win of the season.
Paul Davies accounted for Garry Sanders 28-18.
YMGCR won the remaining two rinks with Rod Jones accounting for Ashley Bates 30-17 and James Lefevre defeating Josh Rudd 25-24.
It was Rudd’s first loss of the season.
“We were 21 down at afternoon tea so it was a good effort to win from there,” Bates said.
“Kylie Whitehead was four or five down and won by eight and Paul Davies fought back as well.
“It was a good start as skip by Kylie and her side.”
Yarrawonga fought back to defeat Wangaratta 101-98.
Melissa Roberts led the fightback by defeating Maurie Braden 27-19 while Kevin Evans ousted Ian Brimblecombe 26-25.
Roberts trailed 19-8 before staging a stunning comeback to get her rink over the line.
“They came back well,” Braden said.
“Young Tyson Cromie played really well for them.
“It was a good game overall.”
Corowa Civic brushed aside Kiewa Valley 116-66.
Col Hendren’s rink was the biggest winner of the day, defeating Jude Bartel 36-13, while Daniel Webb, Max Scanlan and Thomas Webb also posted victories.
An under-strength Benalla held off Rutherglen 85-74 with skip Kyle Pugh’s comfortable win proving the difference.
