THINGS went downhill in Yackandandah on Sunday, but it’s all good – they were meant to, and at a high rate of speed.
Backyard builders put their hard work on show, thundering down the hills of the usually quiet town – occasionally over the speed limit.
Though there were a few spills throughout the 60-odd races held for the Yackandandah Billy Cart Race, organiser Bronwyn Nolan said the continued support of the event meant it had continued to thrive.
“There was a great turnout, once again we had great community support,” she said.
“Lots of interesting entries this year, including a water-propelled cart.”
If you want a crack, you’ve got until the second Sunday of November next year to get tinkering.
