The Saputo board chairman, who has jetted in from Canada to speak to MG shareholders, said he was yet to speak to Danone.
“We will, through our travels here this week, have meetings with Danone,” Mr Saputo said.
“We haven’t been privy to any of the contracts or any of the joint venture set-up, so we really don’t know what we’re getting into.
“Our perspective is that if there are some agreements that have been made with MG and other partners we would like to honour those agreements, but again we still don’t know what that’s all about.”
Mr Saputo had a two-hour meeting with suppliers at Tangambalanga on Tuesday.
He was joined by MG chief executive Ari Mervis.
The Border Mail was told Mr Saputo said he had no interest in owning MG Trading Stores at Wangaratta, Eskdale, Kiewa and Corryong.
