The CFA has announced the official fire danger period for Wangaratta, Benalla and Moira council areas plus Mount Buller will begin on November 20.
The restriction will not yet apply to Wodonga residents, as the start date for the start of fire season has not been announced.
During the fire danger period, people may not light fires in the open air without a permit.
