I’m sure they’re all having a gay old time up there, and they should be!
Nigel Cox snuck up late last Sunday arvo with wife Julianne and trolled around into the eight mile, where they set up camp.
Using cowbells and a scrubby behind, they picked up seven that arvo.
They picked up another five the next morning in a little session and then on the way back to the ramp.
Sounds very promising for this weekend.
Streams have been great, with fly, lure and bait fishos all reporting decent numbers in most streams.
The only issue might be the rain that’s being predicted, but that will also kick things along long term so it’s not all bad news.
Lake Hume is still a bit tough.
There’s plenty of stories of fishos struggling to put a few in the boat, but we’re still hearing of some reasonable reddies coming in.
One technique to try is to troll shallower divers around the edges in that 3-4.5m mark.
Chris Rudd and wife Pauline have been getting a good feed of decent reddies among a heap of little blokes along with the odd yella doing this.
Although, if Pauline keeps catching more and larger fish she might not get a guernsey for too much longer, even if it is her boat.
Catch ya next week.
