The unbeaten outfit will host premiers Mount Beauty.
Quite remarkably, Wodonga doesn’t have one batsman in the top 10, with provincial premiership player Matt King posting 96 runs at 19.20.
It’s the bowling which has proved pivotal.
Wodonga has conceded only 523 runs, at just over 100 per innings.
Yackandandah has allowed 526, but it’s played one less game, with Lavington (688) the next closest of those with five matches.
Leigh Collins is second with 11 wickets, captain Mason Brown has 10, while young guns Charlie Jackson (nine) and Elijah Hollands (eight) round out the quartet.
“For a 15-year old, Elijah is scaring 30-year old batsmen,” Brown said.
“He’s just got a bit of X-factor about him, something just seems to happen when he bowls.
“He’s quick and he’s really pushing for a senior sport.”
Hollands, who doesn’t turn 16 until early next year, is the son of former Ovens and Murray football star Ben, while Jackson’s father is long-time CAW star and Wodonga coach Robbie.
“He’s exactly like his old man, it’s not the same bowling action, but it’s similar,” Brown said.
“I rely on him as our number one spinner to pull us out of strife at times and he stood up in the first game especially, taking his first five-for.
“And he’s our new opening batsman this year, I think he’s been doing a pretty good job so far, he’s got himself off to a couple of good starts.
“He’s only young (16), but once he starts to mature a bit more, he’ll be unreal.”
Mount Beauty lost two star players to provincial, with speedster Jake Styles impressing with his pace for Belvoir, while Luke Jones is batting in Wodonga’s middle order.
The Power sits in sixth spot, splitting its four matches.
“We want to keep our undefeated streak going, it will be, by all means, our biggest test so far,” Brown said.
“Each week, as it goes, it becomes the biggest test.”
Elsewhere, Lavington will be out to bounce back from its first loss.
The Panthers fell to Dederang by five wickets.
Lavington is home to Eskdale, which sits just outside the top six.
Corowa faces a tough test at home against second-placed Dederang.
Just like Lavington, Corowa has made a strong start in its district debut, but an in-form Dederang will be a fierce test.
Bethanga will be chasing its first win at home to Baranduda, while Howlong’s hopes of building on its only win face a serious challenge against fourth-placed Yackandandah.
