After leading by three goals at half-time, Pirates lost focus late and were forced the share the points in one of the matches of the season.
“It was a bit disappointing to let them back into it but it’s only early in the season,” coach Danny Nugent said.
Tom Hawkesworth was a tireless worker for Pool Pirates while goalkeeper Steve Sloan stood firm under pressure.
Jack Baker was again solid for Tigers.
Tigers were bolstered by the return of Harry and Tom Duck.
Both teams took under-strength sides into the encounter with Pirates missing Nash Clark and Tigers being without co-coach Jimmy Scannell.
Scannell is representing Australia Country in Thailand.
Northside edged out an undermanned Sharks 11-9 in the other match.
In the women’s A grade, Pool Pirates won a hard-fought clash over Albury Tigers at Albury Swim Centre.
Annie Lefoe played well for Pirates with support coming from Tegan Baines.
Kate Johnson had a strong match for Tigers.
Sharks returned to the winning list with a thumping 22-0 victory over Northside Wodonga.
Sophie McLeod led the way with five goals while talented first-gamer Blaynee House showed promise with two.
