Albury’s Charlie Spargo, North Albury’s Ben Paton and Doulton Langlands and Wodonga’s Harry Jones were invited to the AFL draft combine in Melbourne last month and are on the radar of clubs.
“I would say those four would be strong chances,” Bushrangers coach Leon Higgins said.
“We only go on the interest AFL clubs show and the amount of questions they ask about our players.
“There could be others as well but those four have attracted the most interest.”
Spargo injured his shoulder during the opening round of the AFL Under-18 Championships in June and missed the end of the season following a reconstruction.
But he is still being touted as a likely second round selection with his class through the midfield and up forward making him the most likely Bushranger to find a new home.
Paton’s season worked the other way with the backman rocketing into prominence following his selection in the All-Australian side.
Jones showed enough to impress scouts before being struck down by a stress reaction in his back while Langlands was one of the Bushrangers’ best late.
Shepparton’s Jordan Butts is another chance.
Mooroopna’s Laitham Vandermeer, Nathalia’s Tom Boyd and North Albury’s Alex Paech have been mooted as rookie chances.
The Bushrangers started pre-season training at Wangaratta’s Norm Minns Oval on Sunday with 106 youngsters going through their paces.
They will hold further sessions at Wodonga on Wednesday and Shepparton on Thursday.
